As 2022 draws near, GM fans are anticipating the brand’s all-electric offerings like the new Silverado EV and Bolt EUV. These three models aren’t the only way that the automaker is starting the New Year with an environmental focus, however. GM recently announced that it will install up to 40,000 Ultium EV charging stations in the U.S. and Canada.
The charging stations will be implemented in both rural and urban areas, especially in “charging desert” areas where units are scarce. GM views the new infrastructure project as one small part of its vision for more widespread adoption of EVs in North America.
Another anticipated bonus of the charging project is that more consumers will start shopping for EVs like the Chevy Silverado EV, Bolt EUV, and Bolt EV. And, considering the growing number of Americans who are warming up to EVs and that think dealerships’ new inventory should be 100 percent electric by 2030, it’s reasonable that GM has high hopes for EV sales in 2022 and beyond.
Starting in early 2022, GM will start delivering Ultium charging stations to GM dealerships nationwide.
