GM CEO Confirms All-Electric Corvette

At Stingray Chevrolet Bartow, we’re buzzing with the latest news. GM President Mark Reuss officially announced that they will produce an electric Chevrolet Corvette. In fact, his announcement hints at the possibility of both a hybrid and all-electric Corvette model.

Though he did not specify a release date for a fully electric Corvette, Reuss stated, “We will offer an electrified Corvette as early as next year”. We don’t yet know if the hybrid version will be a traditional gasoline-electric or plug-in hybrid. We’re just hoping for a convertible option so we can enjoy the Florida sunshine while cruising out to the coast.

GM’s teaser video demonstrates a first-ever feature for any Corvette on the upcoming hybrid model: All-wheel drive. Speculation abounds as to what else the electric Corvette will entail, including rumors that the hybrid model will achieve over 1,000 horsepower.

One thing is certain: the electric Corvette will be built on GM’s Ultium Platform. Using Ultium means we can expect the new, electric Corvette to have responsive handling and an incredibly fast acceleration. The Ultium Platform also allows for multiple quick charging options and an impressive driving range.

We look forward to keeping our Bartow, Florida, community up to date on upcoming Chevy Corvette news. When you’re ready to go electric, come visit us at Stingray Chevrolet Bartow.

Chevrolet Reveals All-Electric Silverado

The Chevrolet Silverado has consistently raised the bar for what a truck can do. Each model year represents the automaker’s latest innovations ranging from tech advancements, comfort features, and towing capabilities. For model year 2024, Chevy is reinventing the Silverado with an eco-friendly powertrain. The all-electric Silverado promises an impressive range, towing capacity, and performance that aligns with the Silverado’s legendary status.

When properly equipped, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV will trailer a maximum weight of 10,000 pounds, deliver 664 horsepower, 780 lb-ft of torque, and driving range of 400 miles, and offer DC fast charging capabilities.[1]

Plus, the 2024 Silverado EV will deliver a stylish look thanks to the automaker’s innovative Ultium platform.

“We had no constraints when it came to designing the Silverado EV with dramatic style and flexible utility because we didn’t need to work around a traditional propulsion system,” said Phil Zak, executive director of Chevrolet Design. “The Ultium Platform allowed us to redefine what it means to offer expansive new storage and utility possibilities.”

Crew Cab is the only configuration offered in the 2024 Silverado EV. The RST and WT trims feature storage you can customize to suit your needs. A storage compartment in the front of the EV truck that resists the weather and can be locked, the eTrunk, is another innovation in the Silverado EV.

New Corvette Stingray Named 2020 MotorTrend Car of the Year

2020 MotorTrend Car of the Year

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has been named the 2020 MotorTrend Car of the Year. As the first-ever production mid-engine Corvette, the car has had the global attention of amateurs and experts alike, but all were wondering — how good is it, really? As MotorTrend has concluded, it’s actually quite good.

This is just the third time in the 66-year history of the Corvette that it has earned MotorTrend’s Car of the Year award.

The Corvette Stingray sets new standards by providing more speed and more power than any other entry-level Corvette before it. It boasts a next-generation 6.2-liter Small Block V8 under the hood, which is rated at 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. With the optional Z51 Performance Package, this model goes from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds.

Its fresh design draws inspiration from the race track, with sweeping, aerodynamic lines and unique mid-engine design. The best of modern technology, customization options, and a relatively low starting price make this exceptional sports car even more appealing.

With the amount of anticipation there had been for the new Corvette Stingray, it was almost bound to fail. But Chevrolet managed something extraordinary with the first-ever mid-engine variant of its most famous car. Get behind the wheel of the 2020 MotorTrend Car of the Year at Stingray Chevrolet Bartow!

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Revealed

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

After months of speculation, Chevrolet finally announced the new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in July, and the news did not disappoint. The new Stingray will be the first-ever mid-engine Corvette, with the engine situated not in the front or back of the car but below the rear seats.

The mid-engine layout lets you peer through a glass panel to look at the engine even while it’s running, but aside from the cool aesthetic factor, it’s also a practical choice.

Having the engine in the middle means the weight distribution is better, there’s more cargo space in the front and rear, and the driver is positioned further frontward for a more racecar-like feel. The angular design also serves a dual purpose: the stylish cutouts improve aerodynamics.

You’ll feel like you’re flying down the track whenever you get behind the wheel thanks to the super low-slung stance and the low positioning of the hood and steering wheel, providing broad sightlines and a sharp, sporty appearance on the road.

The 2020 Stingray is not only the most powerful Corvette ever but also the most adaptable, with Front Lift, which raises the front of the Stingray two inches off the ground when approaching a steep incline or bump for better ground clearance.
