Overland Truck of the Year

The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison has been named the first-ever Overland Truck of the Year by Overland Journal. If you want to enjoy the thrill of off-roading, you need a truck that’s fit for adventure without limits. The ideal overland truck is able to transition effortlessly from pavement to dirt and back again. It will have a respectable payload capacity and a strong towing capability, and it should be efficient and reliable so you can count on it for years of fun.

These are the criteria that Overland Journal had in mind when they tested six different midsize pickup trucks, including the Colorado ZR2 Bison, the Ford Ranger, and the Jeep Gladiator. Editors took these trucks out for thousands of miles in order to find the perfect truck to win its first-ever Overland Truck of the Year award. The Colorado ZR2 Bison won on the strength of its many desirable features in addition to its impressive capability and versatility.

Editors from Overland Journal were quick to applaud the turbo-diesel available in the Colorado ZR2 Bison, as well as its winch-ready front bumper, its front and rear locking differentials, and its class-leading suspension. The Colorado ZR2 Bison is also equipped with five different skid plates, unique 17×8-inch aluminum wheels, and Revolutionary Multimatic DSSV™ dampers.

Chevy Suburban First Vehicle to Earn Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Chevrolet Suburban became the first vehicle in history to be given the Award of Excellence star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Recognizing the 67-year career of the Suburban as a star of film and television shows, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce showcased the iconic American SUV during an event in December 2019.

The Suburban first appeared on screen in 1952, and it’s starred in a whopping 1,750 films and television series. Since 1956, this SUV has been in at least one TV show per year, and at least one film since 1960. Thirty of those films have been nominated for awards. With a striking exterior, capable powertrain, and comfortable interior, the Suburban is an ideal SUV for on and off the silver screen.

“There’s really nothing else like the Chevrolet Suburban in this business, for two reasons,” said Dennis McCarthy, Hollywood picture car coordinator. “First, it’s one of the most versatile vehicles in the business, able to fit with any type of character. Second, it can help instantly give a scene added importance. When a convoy of black Suburbans appears on screen, you know that’s not the time to leave your seat to buy popcorn.”

The Suburban isn’t alone in its popularity on screen, either. The Tahoe, which was introduced in 1995, has appeared on screen in at least one film and television show since its inception. Together, the Suburban and the Tahoe have been in a whopping 2,500 films and TV series.

As the first-ever production mid-engine Corvette, the car has had the global attention of amateurs and experts alike, but all were wondering — how good is it, really? As MotorTrend has concluded, it’s actually quite good.

This is just the third time in the 66-year history of the Corvette that it has earned MotorTrend’s Car of the Year award.

The Corvette Stingray sets new standards by providing more speed and more power than any other entry-level Corvette before it. It boasts a next-generation 6.2-liter Small Block V8 under the hood, which is rated at 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. With the optional Z51 Performance Package, this model goes from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds.

Its fresh design draws inspiration from the race track, with sweeping, aerodynamic lines and unique mid-engine design. The best of modern technology, customization options, and a relatively low starting price make this exceptional sports car even more appealing.

With the amount of anticipation there had been for the new Corvette Stingray, it was almost bound to fail.
